I'm headed there next week. One of my wife's patients was robbed there last week by a group. They tore the watch off his wrist... A cop watched it all occur and did nothing.

Non teaching hospitals get by without medical students or residents…. I’m an RN, I worked a mother baby unit at a hospital that only occasionally saw residents, never ever on the weekend or holiday, and their primary hospital had different protocols, so sometimes their orders were garbage and I had to call the attending to fix them. Ok maybe they weren’t garbage, but merely based on protocols and standing orders in the other hospital and were going to cause confusion and consternation in ours. I really can’t imagine a med student being anything but confused and, unless L&D had a delivery going on, bored out of their minds on a holiday.

Nurse home put bare minimum cna and 1 nurse practically everywhere if some one calls out there no one to take there place it should be law to over schedule

Cmon, you should know better than to wear a Rolex, Omega, Breitling, etc to places like this. Next time, leave the Rolex at home and bring the Seiko. Unless you know that you are 100% going to be in an extra safe tourist destination, when traveling, don't bother. You set you and your wife up as a target for no reason. It's just not worth it.

She’s not a scapegoat. It tells me as a Nurse of 24 years that she did not know what EITHER of the meds were used for. I’m an LPN and I pretty much know what EVERY drug is and used for. Vecuronium is a powder. Versed isn’t. 5 syllables in the former 2 syllables in the latter. So ridiculous. Don’t be a Nurse. Did you read the order back to the MD??

Although you should NOT be a Nurse if you mistake Vecuronium a paralytic for Versed a strong sedative. Really dumb. Has no buisness being a Nurse and belongs not in prison but strongly kept away from Nursing.

Oh and I still work on the same Dementia unit. Everything is a restraint. Have to have a Dr order for bed rails. Stupid huh?? Even putting on a Pts wheelchair breaks is a restraint. No more alarms that the Pt has moved or gotten up. After 2 falls I don’t care about a Drs order if the Pt is hurt he/she goes out to tge ER. Sue me. Neurological checks are paramount when they hit their head.

One Nurse 39 patients?? That’s nothing I did that for 3 years on same unit. It’s not as bad as you think it is in a Nursing home. Maybe I was lucky. Give a few PRN meds out then your 6 am meds. That is the normal way for 11 to 7 am. Have to be on your toes. Had one cardiac arrest. Several falls which are usually benign. Had amazing CNAs too. If it’s unwitnessed you have to do neurological checks and 72 hrs nursing notes.

This topic is very hard to talk about for many and I am happy that you put out your video , so thank you. I myself have been presented with the MAID forms and have not signed them yet and the closer I get to death the more afraid I am of dying in pain. I want to die at home with my kids by my side but these papers have been pulled back from me and I am at a loss. I do not want to end up in a hospital unless I sign a DNR form first . Something is not right with my situation and it is scary.

When I travel I never bring anything of high value. Unfortunately cell phones are now that expensive!!!

Even though you are a large individual, they attacked you because you looked like an easy mark. You cannot have situational awareness if you are looking at your phone. When approaching a group of men, you need to assume a posture and mannerism that says: " Don't even think of trying me."

Google maps can get you killed, as it rules out common sense and gut feeling like taking a cab or listening to tips from locals.

When you are a tourist, you are easy prey anywhere you go. I was almost robbed in Paris while visiting the Sacré-Coeur church to watch the sunset. While sitting in the grass, with hundreds of other tourists around me, I placed my camera next to my thigh where I could feel any odd movement of the camera. Nevertheless, within 2 minutes of sitting down, a guy tried to grab the camera to steal it. Luckily, I was also sitting on my camera neck strap and holding the strap with my hand in between my legs. The guy came from behind and tried to slowly take the camera, thinking I would not notice. As soon as he pulled, I felt it, and he also felt the resistance of the neck strap and took off running without taking the camera. The moral of the story is, don’t look like a tourist if you are on your own. Otherwise travel with guided tours.

This is a terrible procedure for people. You can't sleep, drive, anything doing with sitting or lying down! It has to get better than this!!!!

When I was in Barcelona, if it was a little more than a few blocks or through an unfamiliar area, we took a taxi. Just felt a lot safer that way.
